SOUND FAMILIAR ?
Extract taken from Bristol Evening Post Friday Nov 20th 2009 concerning the resignation of County League Henbury's manager.
Secretary Bob Terry is adamant the finger of blame lies with some of the players.
He said: "Too many of them were showing disrespect for the manager, letting him down at the last minute, taking weekends off and failing to turn up to training.
Having two or three regulars attending training is not acceptable at county league level".
" He was great for the club but his enthusiasm was not shared by the players. We accepted his resegnation very reluctantly".
"We on the committee put a lot of unpaid time into running the club and from now on we'll be cracking down on people who can't be bothered".
Last week, the evening Post reported how Patchway Town boss Fran Johnson had lost patience with players at his club for similar reasons.
Johnson said, " Its funny, but since then I've had a lot more players coming to training. It was clearly the kick up the backside some of them needed".
Does any of this RING ANY BELLS ????
