So near, yet so far !!

With the first point a long way coming, in fact not until 12th Feb in a goaless draw at home to Shaftsbury, it was always going to be an uphill slog, but that game to a degree turned the season around and the players at last showed new manager Darren Sugar what he had been telling them all along that once they got a few good results under their belts with renewed confidence, that on the day Brimsham were as good as any team in the division. So it proved with victories over Oldland, Frampton and Made for Ever coupled with an impressive draw at Winterbourne the great escape was on. The home defeat during this spell to fellow strugglers Greyfriars put the brakes on, but then again proved against Patchway in a 2-2 draw at home just how far the team had come in second part of the season.
We all know that to be successful in whatever standard of football you take part you need to have your best players available all the time, and this the problem with injuries and absentee's playing a huge part. Lets hope Brimsham can get a decent start next season, as we said 'So near yet so far'
